Hoooollo There

This was my birthday present to myself this past Tuesday...
Turned 19. Nothing special.

My environmental studies course was doing a lab this week where we chose a certain night and we get to go out and band sew-whet owls. So I chose the night of my birthday.
It. Was. Amazing.
I got to carry one in a bag back to the work station to take measurements and all that good stuff.

This big girl was very feisty.
She wouldn't hold still.

None of the students got to hold the owls out of the bag, the ornithologist took care of the manhandling.
It was quite the experience though, I must say.

Both females were quickly and safely released!
